  • General

    What are the addresses of DR hotels?

    Can I make the booking from abroad?
    Why not. Just simply choose any room you like from the website and follow the instructions.

    Can I receive mail and packages?
    Sure you can! Don’t forget to write full address in the address box. You can collect your package from the reception desk.

    Do I have to pay a brokers fee?
    No. no. no.

    How does the move-in process look like?
    Come in. Approach the front desk and issue your key. You can check in between 14:00-23:00.

    How do I pay for my room?
    On the first day of every month we’ll send an invoice to your email address.

    When to check-in or check-out?
    Check-in is between 14:00-23:00.
    Check-out time is until 12:00 (PM).

    Is it possible to check in before 2 pm?
    You can request an early check-in shortly before your arrival. Providing it depends upon availability and may be additionally charged.

    Is it allowed to smoke?
    No. It is strictly forbidden to smoke inside the building. The fine is 100 €. We hope that’s fine.

    What do I do if something is wrong in my room?
    Inform our staff about any issues.

    Can I have my own fridge in the room?
    There already is one.

    Can I sign in as a resident?
    Yes.

    Do you have a hairdryer?
    No, but you are allowed to bring your own.

    What about parking?
    We do provide parking for an extra fee.

    Is there public transport nearby?
    Yes, there are public transport bus stops nearby. Ride to the city center or other districts.

    Can I book a room if I am not a student?
    Yes, but it depends upon availability.

    Can I pay in cash?
    No. At the moment only wire transfer payment method is available. For the first payment credit card is also an option.

    What payment types do you accept?
    At the moment only wire transfer payment method is available.

    Are pets allowed?
    No. Sorry.

    Can I stay If I am under 18?
    Yes you can! In such case your trustee will sign the agreement for you.

    Do you provide laundry service in the hotel?
    Yes, we do have a professional laundry room with washing machines and dryers. It costs 2.50 € for wash/dry. It is the only thing you’ll have to pay extra.

  • Rooms

    Do all rooms have a private bathroom?
    Yes, each and every room has a private bathroom inside.

    Do I have to clean my room?
    Yes and no. We clean your room weekly, but you’ll probably have to participate a little bit yourself also.

    What common rooms can I use?
    You can use all the common rooms and areas available in the Duck Republik.

    Do you provide bed linen and towels?
    Bedding set – yes. Towels – no.

    What room types you have?
    There are 5 options. Single room. Studio apartement. Bed in a twin room. Bed in a twin studio apartement. Disabled access room.

    Can I change my room during my stay?
    Why not. But it depends upon availability.

    Can I bring my own furniture in the room?
    The room is equipped with necessary furniture. Please talk to our staff before adding anything.

    Is the kitchen equipped with kitchen utensils?
    Yes, kitchens are equipped with some pans, pots and cutlery.

    By how many people are the kitchens shared with?
    There are big kitchens on the 1st and 3rd floors. There should be always enough space for everyone.

    What happens if I lose my key?
    Acquire a new key from reception. It costs 10 € and will be added to your monthly invoice.

  • Payments / bookings

    Can I make the booking from abroad?
    Why not. Please contact our customer support or book the desired room on website.

    How do I know that my booking is confirmed?
    The booking is confirmed once the first payment is received.

    How to cancel my stay once the booking is paid?
    Once the booking is paid, it is confirmed and it is not possible to cancel.

    Can I modify my reservation dates?
    Autumn semester agreement period must be: 01.09.2020. – 31.01.2020.
    Spring semester agreement period must be: 01.02.2020. – 30.06.2020.
    Adjustments are possible upon request depending on availability.

    What to do if I get an error during my booking process?
    If something goes wrong contact us at support@duckrepublik.eu and we will help you as soon as possible.

    Do I have to pay the deposit and will I get my deposit back?
    Yes and yes. Security deposit is equal to 1 month rent payment. If everything goes well, you’ll get it back after you leave.

  • Long term guests

    Can I choose different move-in and move-out dates?
    Autumn semester agreement period must be: 01.09.2020. – 31.01.2020.
    Spring semester agreement period must be: 01.02.2020. – 30.06.2020.

    Can I sign in as a resident?
    Yes.

    What is included in my monthly rent?
    The monthly rent includes utilities as heating, water and electricity. It also includes WiFi and weekly room cleaning, as well as a bedding set upon arrival.

    How can I pay?
    On the first day of every month we’ll send an invoice to your email address.

    When do I have to make the payment?
    The very first payment should be paid within 7 days from the date the payment invoice was received. Monthly rent payments must be paid till the 7th date of each month.

    What is the minimum lease period?
    The minimum lease term is 5 full months. We can consider different requests upon availability.

    Can I choose my roommate?
    If you have a friend you would like to share the same room with, you can surely do that! If you come on your own to a twin room or twin studio appartement, we will select a same sex roommate ourself.

    Can I bring guests overnight?
    This can be agreed upon request to our staff, support@1home.eu

    Do I get to know my roommate before the move in?
    According to personal information security laws we cannot share your roommate’s information. You will meet you roommate once you both move in.

    Is it possible to see the room before I book it?
    Sure. Just contact us at support@duckrepublik.eu. There should be a person available from our staff to show you the room.

    What is the cancellation policy?
    It is possible to terminate the lease agreement by giving a written notice at least 1 month in advance. However, the security deposit and pre-payments are not refunded in such case.

    What are the rules in the common kitchens?
    It’s easy – everyone cleans up after themselves and provided kitchen utensils never leave the kitchen.

    Is there an age limit?
    For shared rooms it is <30 years.
    For single rooms it is <38 years.

    Is there a waiting list if the room I want is booked out?
    Yes, you can always sign up for a waiting list. Contact us at support@duckrepublik.eu

    What if I cannot find my school in the list when I book it?
    That is not a big deal. We accept tenants from universities all over the world.

    Why I have to pay the deposit?
    A security deposit is a sum of money that a tenant pays a landlord before moving into a rental property. It is refunded back to the tenant after the lease term end date if there are no claims against the tenant.

  • Short stay

    Can I book a room only for a few days or weeks?
    It could be possible depending upon availability. Please contact our staff to find out at support@duckrepublik.eu

    What is included in my rate?
    Short stay rate includes utilities and internet. No breakfast included.

    What is the cancellation policy?
    You can always cancel your booking by letting us know. None of pre-payments would be refunded.
